Auckland Music Therapy Conference - September. Call for papers. Music
Therapy New Zealand (MThNZ) is excited to be hosting our 2012
Conference in Auckland, New Zealand on 22-23 September. The theme
for Conference is “Music and the Brain: Developing Pathways”. The
Keynote address will be given by Dr. Wendy Magee, Associate Professor,
Department of Music Education and Therapy, Temple University,

Nationwide Lexus
Song Quest 2012 entries now open.
The
New Zealand International Arts Festival is delighted to call for
entries to the 2012 Lexus Song Quest. We are proud today to see former
Lexus Song Quest entrants gracing stages across the world. The 2012 New
Zealand International Arts Festival will feature no less than three
previous winners: Martin Snell, Philip Rhodes and Jonathan Lemalu.
Music
Preparation:
Entrants must prepare a programme of 6 items for their initial
audition. This must include: two operatic arias; one aria
from an
oratorio, mass or cantata; one German Lied, French Melodie or European
Art Song in a language other than English; and two items of their own
choice. Entrants programmes must include three languages, one
being English. One aria may be up to seven minutes in
length. All other items must not exceed five minutes
each.
Those unable to get to the audition or based overseas may submit a
recorded programme.

New Plymouth WOMAD:
the World’s Festival 16-18 March.
WOMAD is a 3 day festival featuring music, art and dance from around
the world. It happens in many countries around the world and
in NZ, it takes place at the TSB Bowl of Brooklands in New
Plymouth. Acts announced for this year include Korean
traditional musicians, a Brazilian accordion virtuoso duo, the “Shogun
Orchestra” and a traditional Javanese shadow puppet show. For
