General Information

The Auckland Branch of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers of New Zealand is the largest of 15 branches throughout the country covering an area from South Auckland to the Hibiscus Coast. Its members are qualified, experienced music teachers registered to teach piano and/or other instruments, voice, composition, theory and early childhood music.

Finding a music teacher

Lists of registered music teachers are available for all areas. Please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope with a request for the area list you require to The Secretary, IRMT Auckland Branch, P O Box 60352, Titirangi, Auckland 1007.

Registration and Application for Membership

Registration is for teachers with qualifications and teaching experience that meet the requirements of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers of New Zealand.

These afternoon or evening concerts held at various venues around Auckland, are organised by Auckland Branch members to give their students regular opportunities for public performance.

Examinations

Liaison is maintained with Auckland Representatives of the three major music

examination organisations: Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Trinity College London and the Australian Music Examinations Board.
